What is pediatric pelvic health?

Pediatric pelvic health is a unique type of physical therapy that looks at the muscles of the pelvic floor and determines why children are experiencing bladder and bowl dysfunctions. The pediatric pelvic health specialist will analyze the muscles of pelvic floor as well as surrounding musculature to determine if they are weak, tight, painful, or have proper coordination associated with normal bowel and bladder functioning. She will also analyze eating, drinking, and voiding habits to provide the best plan of care for your child. This creates a full-body approach to treating bowel and bladder dysfunctions that can cause embarrassment and social limitations for children of various ages.
